Southland Makes History: State Champions in IHSA Short Film Competition!

Good Evening Southland Family,

We are excited to share some incredible Southland HISTORY with you!

Members of the Southland College Prep Film Club recently submitted a short film in the 2026 IHSA Short Film Competition—and we are proud to announce that on Saturday March 28th, they earned a FIRST PLACE FINISH. They are officially STATE CHAMPIONS!

This marks Southland’s first-ever state championship in the Short Film category, making this achievement even more special for our school community.
The award-winning short film, titled Soul Music, showcases the creativity, storytelling, and dedication of our talented students. Their hard work and passion truly paid off on the state level.
